University of Oregon tax accounting researchers are once again earning recognition as top industry leaders, according to newly released 2019 rankings compiled by Brigham Young University (BYU).
Rankings are divided into three time periods: The most recent six years, the most recent 12 years, and all publications since 1990, according to BYU.
University of Oregon ranked #1 in the world in tax accounting research publications over the past 12 years and second over the past six years in the annual rankings of accounting research productivity and influence.
The same ranking named UO second over all years since the ranking has been published.
UO tax accounting research also earned the #1 spot in 2017 and 2018.
“We are pleased to note Indiana University-Bloomington is ranked #1 over the past six years, thanks in part to Lundquist College alumnus Brian Williams, PhD ’15, who has collaborated with Lundquist faculty on top tax papers,” said David Guenther, Scharpf Professor of Accounting and interim director for the college’s School of Accounting. “This reflects well on the quality of our PhD program.”
The other schools rounding out the top five were University of California-Irvine, Colorado State University, and Texas A&M University.
The University of Oregon produces consistent, quality research, earning our faculty thought leadership in many areas of accounting research while providing remarkable opportunities for student learning and research collaborations.
